epic.TWELVE Results and Recap

This weekend saw lots of teams coming together in Kettering and fight it out for lots of cash prizes. There was LoL,CS:GO,Starcraft 2 and also ESL UK was there to host their Dota 2 challenge.

League of Legends

13 teams were competing for a £1250 prize pool and some headsets provided by the sponsor Astro Gaming.

1st - FM RaiderZ
2nd - Team Infused
3rd - myXMG

The newly formed FM RaiderZ came through not dropping a game in the group stages and then went through the elimination brackets only losing two games. They faced Team Infused in the final who actually went down into the losers bracket in the quarter finals to myXMG but then faced them again in the lower finals and beat them 2-0. Going into the final FM RaiderZ were already a game up and went on to take game one but Team Infused pulled back the 2nd game. But in the 3rd game FM RaiderZ proved to just too much and went to win £850 and some Astro headsets.

CS:GO

Unfortunately only 8 teams turned up for epic.LAN this time but never mind the show must go on. Lots of good names did turned up so the competition was always going to be fierce.

1st - Team CRG
2nd - The Lovely Men
3rd - The Not so Lovely Men

All three of the teams went through the group stages with ease, Team CRG winning all their games and TLM only losing to Team CRG. Both teams met in the upper bracket final where Team CRG took it 2-1. So TLM had to fight TNSLM for the final spot in the final and it ended 2-1 in the favor of TLM. For the third time in the tournament Team CRG were playing TLM but this time it was for the tournament. Team CRG didn't need a third game this time and took the final 2-0 and took home £750.

Starcraft 2

11 players turned up for battle it out for £250 prize pool. The favorite dignitas's own blinG couldn't make it due to the stormy weather that has been hitting the UK lately so the field was wide open.

1st - FM Ourk
2nd - TLR Rotcod
3rd - Aicy
The competition jumped straight into the round of 16  and FM Ourk went through the competition with ease only dropping one map getting to the final. TLR Rotcod didn't drop a map until FM Ourk defeated him in the upper final 2-0. TLR Rotcod bounced back immediately by winning his lower final match against Aicy 2-0 and going straight back against FM Ourk. FM Ourk had a one map advantage going into the final and made that into a 2-0 lead. TLR Rodcot tried his best and got map 2 to make it 2-1 but FM Ourk was just too strong and took map 3 and tournament.  FM Ourk took home £200 and TLR Rotcod took £50.

ESL UK Dota 2 Challenge

ESL UK's first offline event held a quite impressive £3000 prize pool with the winners taking a nice £1700. 11 teams turned out with some good names like Reason Gaming.

1st - Dwayne The John Rockson
2nd - So LeJit
3rd - Reason Gaming

In the group stages nothing out of the ordinary happened both DTJR and Reason topping their respective groups. Now onto the playoffs where So LeJit and DTRJ meet in the semi's with DTRJ taking a win and moving on the the upper bracket finals against Reason. While this is all happening So LeJit is fighting their way through the losers brackets to the loser finals. Reason lose to DTRJ meaning Reason will play so LeJit in the loser brackets finals and So Lejit pull of a win to recreate the semi that happened earlier. But history repeats itself and DTRJ come out on top and claim the £1700 prize pool.
